Set on a charming rustic wooden jetty along the banks of the Prai River, the restaurant offers one of the most relaxed and memorable dining atmospheres in the Prai area.

The Restoran Nelayan Terapung Ujong Batu, as it is known in Malay, has an airy and pleasant ambience for both lunch and dinner. One can be seated close to the riverside pier and soak in the idyllic scenery of mangrove trees, tethered boats and waves lapping along the jetty’s stilts. 

 

Inshore fishermen can be seen plying along the river. Indeed, much of the seafood served here is brought fresh from the local fishers. The restaurant is at the end of Jalan Sungai Nyior which is on the Butterworth side of the Prai River. One can reach Jalan Sungai Nyior from Prai by crossing the Prai River Bridge before turning into the exit ramp at Bagan Dalam. One can also get there from Butterworth by turning into Bagan Dalam Road from near the ferry and railway terminals, and proceeding under the flyover of the Butterworth Outer Ring Road, past the Bagan Dalam mosque, towards Jalan Sungai Nyior.
